I don't know if this is awesome so much as it is completely terrifying. Yet I still find it strangely funny...

Daily Awesome #15

Another non-related caption from that site that strangely fits. God, I love that episode. Good thing the only thing that attracts sea-rhinoceroses is the sound of a sea-bear attack...

Daily Awesome #14

Found this here: http://unrelatedcaptions.com/

Ok, I was torn between being disturbed and finding this extremely hilarious, especially considering JK Rowling's bombshell about Dumbledore a while back. But after a while, I just found this plain funny. The captions are supposed to be unrelated, but man, this fits...

Daily Awesome #13

I really can't give this guy crap about it, seeing as though I used to try the same thing lol. I used to try sooo hard to do a Kamehameha, but to no avail. I even tried to fly a few times... Aw, who didn't try?! I couldn't have just been me lol

Guitar ^^

One aspect of my life that's become pretty important to me is my guitar. I haven't really said a lot about it, so I figured I'd start now. I got my guitar for my birthday in February, but sadly, I didn't really start playing it a lot until the summer. I started by learning some of the scales and stuff, and then I kinda got impatient (as usual haha), and wanted to learn how to play actual songs that I love. So, I started looking up tabs, one of the first being "About a Girl" by Nirvana and a few Fall Out Boy songs. I never completely learned how to play the first, and by the end of the summer, I didn't really learn a whole lot lol. I was starting to forget the scales and the basic stuff that I had learned earlier.

Then came college. I moved up to Cedar Falls without my guitar because I was worried that I wouldn't be able to play it in the dorms without disturbing people. About a month in, my parents came up for a visit and brought my guitar with them. Needless to say, I was pretty darn excited. As soon as I got it again, I started where I left off. I found out how simple Fall Out Boy songs were (mostly just power chords), so I picked those up first. Then was around the time that I learned how to tune my guitar according to the song I was playing. A few songs were in drop D tuning and I had no idea what that was at first, but I learned along the way.

I worked my way through some of my favorites, then I was kinda at a standstill. I had no clue where to go next with what I was doing. Then, randomly, I decided that I needed to start going back to my roots in classic rock and learn more about the bands of the 60s through the 80s. So naturally, Queen and the Beatles were first on my list. "Killer Queen" and "Day Tripper" were two of the firsts that I looked up. Then, I re-discovered Guns N' Roses, which is up there on my list of greatest bands of all time. Of course, my playing wasn't up to Slash-standards, so I put that on the back burner. Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and a whole bunch of others when onto my playlists on YouTube. Not only did I start listening/trying to play the music of these bands, I learned about their history, the band members.

Then, I found the band that beats the others. Now, I might get a lot of crap for this, but I put Queen, The Beatles, AC/DC, and and bunch of other classic, epic bands on a whole other pedestal. These are the greatest and should remain unparalleled in greatness for all time. BUT, my favorite band right now is the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I never really listened to them before, but I remember back when Stadium Arcadium came out. I LOVED Dani California, but I never got to know more about them. The cool thing about them is that each member shines. When I listen to most rock music, the bass especially is almost inaudible, which is a shame because I love the way the bass can sound. However, with RHCP, Flea's playing is clearly heard, along with everyone else. Anthony's lyrics and singing are genius and Chad's drums are epic. John Frusciante is my favorite guitarist ever. Again, I'll probably get crap for that, but Brian May, Slash, Jimi Hendrix, etc. still are on that pedestal of awesome. But once I started finding out that a bunch of my favorite songs were written and played by RHCP, I fell in love with John's playing. I started looking up vids of him playing, and to my surprise, I was able to pick up on some things by watching him. And what I love the most about him is the fact that he was able to come back better than ever after nearly dying in the 90s from drug abuse. The band welcomed him back and they have a sort of brotherhood that is amazing. Too bad that John left earlier this year :( Of course, the second I find out how awesome they are, the lineup changes. Go figure. I'll still listen with the new guitarist though, but I'll definitely keep an eye open for John's solo work.

Here's the song that I'm learning right now, "Under the Bridge". John's actually teaching this one!

I rambled, but I really love music a lot. I couldn't live without it and I keep learning new things everyday. next semester, I'll hopefully be taking a guitar class for credit, so I'll have some structure to my learning. I'm really trying to learn more of the theory so I can have a better understanding of what I'm doing and how to do it. I'm pretty excited, and I can't wait to see how far I'll be able to take my playing :)

Daily Awesome #12

I love Bill Nye and I wish they still showed his stuff :( He got me interested in science when I was little. He's the precursor to Mythbusters, really (which I also love).

Also, I lol'd when I read this. Makes him seem even more badass, which is nearly impossible.

DOUBLE RAINBOW- /w Brandon :D

Since I haven't put up anything I've done personally in a while, I thought I'd upload a vid I shot with my nephew Brandon about a month ago. We were outside of Farm and Fleet when it started raining really hard out of the blue. After it stopped, he and I gazed on in awe as we witnessed the majesty of a double rainbow. So, of course, we had to LOOK AT THE COLORS. DOUBLE RAINBOW ALL THE WAY. IT'S SO VIVID. I was such a sad panda when I realized that the second rainbow is really hard to see, but thankfully, I took a still picture of it before :D

Cool thing is, I think this was the first double rainbow I've ever seen. It was pretty cool, but I don't know why that one guy was freaking out so much about it lol.

Woo first Daily Awesome in like, forever lol. This time, I spotlight Pokemon, the game every one of us was obsessed with at one point or another. I always thought it was completely weird that you can walk into a hospital and have your animal, barely clinging to life, revived for free, but you have to pay hundreds of dollars for drinks lol. I guess that's the only way universal healthcare's gonna work, huh? Also, why the hell is Oak so freaking forgetful? He's a genius, yet can't, #1 remember his own grandson's name, and #2, figure out what GENDER you are. And on top of that, the stupid "tree blocking your path" thing is ridiculous. It's ONE skinny tree, but for some reason, you can't walk around it. Oh, and the whole "10-year-old venturing on their own and taking down evil corporations and organizations" thing is crazy too. I guess the Pokemon world is just too different lol

Actor Spotlight #1

New segment alert!! :D I've decided to showcase my favorite actors and actresses in this segment and tell a little about them in the process. The very first is my absolute FAVORITE actor evar.

Edward Norton. I would say "that is all", but because this is a spotlight, I'll say a bit about him. First, and I'm not afraid to say, he's amazingly cute. He's like, 41, but he still has that look. I dunno, I gotta stop before I start on a tangent lol.

Um, let's see... He's been in some pretty amazing movies, a few of which haven't gotten as much attention as they should. American History X, The 25th Hour, and his newest film, Leaves of Grass, are like that. One of my favorites of his though, will always be Fight Club. Just the way that he portrays that shy, small man who's truly scheming and becomes jaded is interesting. I think, for sure, that he's currently one of the best actors out there. Check it!

Daily Awesome #5

If you understand this, you've won the internet! :D I did, and I gotta tell you, I was pretty darn proud of myself lol

Character Designs- Jaimie

Ok, defs gotta work on Jaimie some more :/ He's the rebel character in "Project Zero", but he just seems so 1-dimensional right now... Gotta find something more to add to him before I start writing him into the story, but what?...

Character Designs- Shanice

If you couldn't tell by all the doodles, I really like drawing Shanice :D She plays a pretty big part in "Project Zero". And YES, she is black lol. But, she's the brains of the outfit, made evident by her watch and goggles xD I think I like her more than Jonah and Jaimie combined.

Character Designs- Jonah

Alrighty, finally, the designs for the main character of "Project Zero", Jonah. His name was Jonas at first, but I think Jonah sounds cooler. I got his back story mostly all worked out. Had to have the angsty, quiet guy lol. I had to redraw him in the bottom corner because the first two doodles just didn't look right. Oh, and I don't know why there are wrinkles in the page x.x Like before, character profiles coming later ^^

Character Designs- Group #3

First off, LOVE!!!!11!! Now that that's over, this is easily one of my favorite drawings evar. And the funny part is, these aren't even major characters in the comic. They're Usagi, Masato, Katone, and Ryuu. One doesn't fit with the others, but I'm not telling which D: Masato and Katone are married, but she doesn't know he's alive (drama!). Also, I love Katone's hands! Usually any hands I draw end up looking like crap lol. But her's are just awesome, so are her clothes :3 Other than that, I love Masato's, well, everything xD Oh, and Ryuu's pecs.

Character Designs- Group #2

Meeeeh... I don't really like this group. The only two I really like as characters are the ones on the left, Shiori and Kaz. Takahiro, Mamoru, and Setsu... I dunno, I just think they could be something more. They always say that if you don't like something you've done, neither will other people, so I gotta fix that lol. Also, ignore Takahiro, every time I draw him, he looks like a creeper xD

Character Designs- Group #1

Okie doke, finally, after a few weeks, I got to scan drawings I recently did of my characters from my currently unnamed comic. They're Megumi, Kai, Sorua, Haruko, and Ryouta. Eventually, I want to get the profiles of each one up here. Also, as in most of my drawings, ignore the hands >_>

Project Zero

Ok, I came up with an awesome idea for a new comic earlier this summer, but I just finished getting all the ideas written down. It takes place in 2100 in a post-apocalyptic Earth (yeah, yeah, original right?) that's been destroyed by a mysterious chemical agent. So hang tight, this might take a while lol. I'll try to condense my ramblings as much as possible.

After Iraq's liberation, there was a short peace that erupted into an arms race. Nations stockpiled weapons and prepared for the worst. Most nations, however, were prepared for physical warfare, not biological. A small remnant of extremists in the Middle East had been perfecting a chemical agent that had the capability to destroy nations. In 2045, the agent was tested, but the testing went wrong and destroyed a nearby village completely. One man survived and managed to escape before the extremist group could perform tests on him. He was given the codename "Zero". Zero disappeared and resurfaced in London during a UN conference, where he told them about the testing and the chemical agent in the Middle East, disappearing again right after. Immediate action was taken to capture the extremists, but before they could be apprehended, they released the chemical, now called "Reaper", into to air as a last ditch effort to achieve their goals. Reaper spread through the air and in 5 years, managed to wipe out most human life on Earth.

As time went by, small groups of survivors around the world grouped together to form communities. The only area that seemed largely unaffected was northern Europe, namely England. In order to keep some kind of peace in the world, England's government sent military around the planet. Most major colonies were found and given names, while London was given the name "Central", where most of the power to govern the Earth now lay. Most survivors trusted Central to take care of everything while others felt the exact opposite. Small rebel factions grouped together in Europe to take down Central, feeling that they had far too much power. The rebellion was stopped almost immediately, and word spread to other colonies as did the disapproval of Central. To keep more rebels from attempting the same, Central ordered the occupying military to crack down on the colonies. And for almost 50 years, that oppression has continued. Central refuses to say what its true motives are. The people who had previously fought are losing the will to fight on and their children and grandchildren have become complacent. Despite this, there are some who are still willing and determined to fight for their freedom...

And that's where the story starts :D

Strangely enough, I'm more excited about this comic than I am about the one I've been working on for almost 5 years lol. I can't wait to get started on this one!

Daily Awesome #4

Lesson here is, cats are freaking crazy. I think they're cute and all, but darnit if every time I start getting close to one, it decides to try and claw my face off. True story: I was at my aunt's house after graduation. She has two cats, and one was getting close to me, rubbing up against me while I was sitting. At first, I thought it was adorable, and I started petting her. She purred and I thought everything was cool. After about 5 minutes I got comfortable enough to try to pick her up. MISTAKE. She hissed and bit at my hand. Friggin' moody cats...

Random Doodles #1

Alright, more drawings :D In posts like these, I'll put up random drawings that I've done over the years, most of which were drawn in class lol

This is one of my best in-class doodles. The character's name is Megumi, who is basically the main character of my comic. It's from last year in my American Lit class. We were reading and watching "The Crucible" (which is the definition of boring). When I'm bored, I draw with more creativity than I do when I'm actually motivated. As a side note, that half credit was bs. That sub told me it was alright to turn it in at the end of class. Jerk.

Daily Awesome #3

Ok, so I'm pretty sure we can all agree that Sean Connery is easily the most badass/classy person on the planet, alive or dead. These pictures are absolute proof that Connery has reached the highest level of awesome attainable by mankind. He can kick your ass, yet be a gentleman at the same time. Every human being's goal should be to reach even half of the levels Connery has. If that ever happened, there would be a true peace on Earth, no joke. He's defs on my list of people who should be frozen until an immortality gene is discovered, because the world would just suck if he wasn't around. Is it weird that I have a mental list of people who should live forever? Nah.

Daily Awesome #2

No More Heroes: God Hand Edit. First off, I freaking love this game :D Second, this is very much an accurate description of the events lol. I gave up when I fought Henry, he uses extreme hax >:( The ride until the end was pretty awesome though. I made sure to get the very last beam katana, and my god was it worth it. That thing was godly. And the satisfaction of taking out countless faceless minions was great, especially when some would yell "MY SPLEEEEN" when decapitated xD I seriously need to get the sequel.

Random Musings

Surprisingly, even though I haven't left my house in a day or two, a lot has been happening. First big thing, I got accepting into my first guild yesterday in Fiesta. Fiesta's a really cool mmorpg and once I hit lvl 60 (I'm lvl 63 right now), I couldn't stay in my sort of "jr." guild anymore. So, I was guild-less for about a week. I applied to a guild called Minerva, which seemed pretty cool. I was in an academy called Mythic_Bliss for a while, so I wasn't sure about leaving them behind; the people were really cool, especially the master, DThug lol. But the lvl requirement for the actually guild was 90 >.<>

And oh em gee, I can't wait until NBA season starts. So much junk has started going down. People being traded to different teams. My fav team is the Phoenix Suns, but the managers just royally screwed me over. They traded Amare Stoudemire >> Now, there's no one for Steve Nash's beautiful passes to go to. Oh, btw, Nash is the best point guard in the league, no contest. The Utah Jazz got screwed too- no more Carlos Boozer. And, as everyone else, I'm excited to see how the Heat turn out. I know everyone's pissed at LeBron for leaving Cleavland, but I say he had a pretty good reason to. He put 7 years of his life into hard work, and the gm's and managers didn't give him anything to work with. Shaq was a nice attempt, but he wasn't enough. Oh, and speaking of Shaq, now I'm going to have to go against him for the first time my entire life because he's playing with the Celtics. The Celtics is just a team full of a-holes, especially Kevin Garnet, and Shaq is nothing like them. Dang, I guess I gotta see how stuff turns out. I just hope the Suns didn't get nerfed too bad lol

And of course, the countdown is on for college. I leave for UNI in about a week and a half. As an art major, I'll be drawing a lot more, and hopefully I'll be able to get a lot more new stuff up after the first semester. I think more than anything else, I'm nervous that I'll mess up. I haven't been away from home by myself like this since the 6th grade >> Sad, I know, but it just freaks me out a little. My roommate seems very down-to-earth, so hopefully she'll be able to help keep me together lol.

Well, that concludes my musings for the day. Nothing much else is happening, although I might post some drawings in a bit.

Daily Awesome #1

Since I hope to be updating at least daily here, I thought I'd start a little segment called the "Daily Awesome". In these posts, I will be bringing you various awesomeness and lolz from around the interwebs. I have no idea where I found this, but man, did it make my day :D I think what makes this win is the look on his face. His cosplay is srs bsn. At least I hope this is cosplay lol. Anyway, this guy is actually pretty cool xD

Background

Alrighty, I thought I'd start off by giving a summary of my comic, which, even after 4 years of writing, remains nameless :p This started as a classroom doodle in geometry class in 9th grade, and has now become something I'm very proud of. I'm terrible at summaries, but I'll give it my best try. By the way, the picture here is going to be the opening drawing of my comic. I'll clean it up and stuff of course lol. I'm in the process of "Americanizing" it I guess, because for the longest time, I've drawn purely anime. It's how I taught myself when I was younger, and it's a hard habit to break. So that means that names and stuff are subject to, and probably will, change in the near future.

But anyway, this comic takes place sometime in the past in a sort of alternate version... You know, I don't really know when lol. It's in the past, but has some current or futuristic elements. One god ruled over nothingness until he decided to end his solitude by creating 3 lesser gods. They embodied Knowledge, Strength, and Balance. To make sure these three didn't end up with nothing like he had, the god made the Universe out of the void. And in this new Universe, there was a small planet that the god gave to his Children so that they could do with it what they pleased, and left them to their own devices. Many years went by without incident, and the Children gave rise to mountains, forests, and oceans on their planet. However, the Children of Knowledge and Strength grew to despise each other, both claiming that their attributes were greater than the other's, while Balance tried to keep the peace. Strength, knowing that she could overpower her sister Knowledge, learned, through the teachings of their Father, how to create. With that power, she created her own race in her image- strong and powerful beasts- which began to inhabit the land. With them, she attacked Knowledge, who in retaliation, created her own people. During the impending battle, Balance sought the help of his Father, who told him to protect Knowledge. With his help, and the help of his people, Strength was defeated and sealed away in a temple, to be guarded by her own people. The people of Knowledge were outraged that no other actions were taken against Strength, and from there a deep-seeded hatred began to grow.

2,000 years later, the ancestors of the people of Knowledge launched a plan to eradicate Strength's people altogether, again aided by the people of Balance. Knowledge had been regretting her actions and what happened to her sister, and became desperate to set things straight. And that's where the story begins!

Phew, that was a lot, but that's the background to my comic. It's nearly everything that leads up to the current events. Oddly enough, the first half doesn't have anything to do with the gods at all. It centers around a ragtag group of kids at first, then branches out from there. I'll try to get other background info posted up when I can.

Update :D

Boy, it's been a while since I've been on here :p I know that in the next few weeks, I'll have this thing up and running. It's gonna be all pretty and stuff lol I'm hoping to get my comic posted up here, probably page by page as I get it done.

First Post :)

Hey all! I'm never any good at intros, but I'm all about art... and video games... and sports lol I guess the name's slightly misleading :p I've never had a blog before, so hang tight while I work out the kinks!
